Southern Humboldt is an underserved and rural area and while our community was facing some unsuccessful time that brought a drastic change and resulted in a crisis, we thought it was time for the community to get together and start to build something that can sustain the community itself, on every level: education, health, jobs offer, food and programs that can motived our kids (they are definitely the future).
In 2023, we decided to start Help’s On The Way, a local non-profit based in Garberville, Southern Humboldt, CA, that develops art and music programs for kids in the community.
We understand how important is for our kids to have any kind of program available that can help them express themselves, support them during teenage age conflicts, and have a place to go or someone to talk to when they need it.
But our dream is getting bigger, and Help’s On The Way is also working on building a Youth Center in our town. A place where youth can be youth, where they can have their own safe space to learn, to play, to dance, and stay off the street. A solution to avoid juvenile delinquency.
Help’s On The Way offers programs and places for everyone without any kind of discrimination for race, color, or ethnicity.
national origin or ancestry, religion or creed, sex, gender, or gender identity/expression (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, disability (Physical or Mental), veteran or military status, immigration or citizenship status, or socioeconomic background.
Any kind of discrimination will not be tolerated.
